About
Students, Faculty, & Staff of Indiana University,
Join us for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, a campus-wide celebration of Dr. King’s legacy through community engagement, learning, and action. This day invites students, staff, faculty, and community members to come together in service to honor Dr. King’s commitment to justice, equity, and collective responsibility.
Volunteers will participate in meaningful projects across Bloomington—supporting local nonprofits, addressing community needs, and strengthening connections throughout our region. Whether you’re a returning participant or joining for the first time, your service makes a real impact.
What to Expect:
-
Hands-on service projects with community partners
-
A chance to meet fellow volunteers
-
A chance to contribute to positive change
Who Can Participate:
All IU students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome. No prior experience is needed, just bring your energy, curiosity, and commitment to helping others.
Why It Matters:
MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service. By volunteering, you help carry forward Dr. King’s vision of a more just and compassionate society.
All Indiana University events, groups, activities, and educational, cultural, and historical observances welcome all IU students and other members of the Indiana University community.
Training will happen on-site and will be facilitated by the community partner.
