Be part of one of Indiana University’s most iconic traditions—Move-In Day.
IU Corps and Residence Life are bringing together staff, students, alumni, and community members to create a welcoming, high-energy experience for incoming students and their families. As a volunteer, you’ll help residents move in, offer guidance, and—most importantly—set the tone for their first day as Hoosiers.
This moment matters. A warm welcome, a helping hand, or a simple smile can shape a student’s sense of belonging from day one. Your presence helps new students feel connected, supported, and excited to begin their IU journey.
This is your chance to show what it means to be a Hoosier—and to be part of a day that students will remember long after move-in.

Volunteers will receive a free IU branded t-shirt to wear. T-Shirt pickup will be available Mon., Aug. 17 at Assembly Hall for all confirmed volunteers. Lunch will be provided for the afternoon volunteer shifts only. Parking details for volunteers will be provided as we get closer to the Grand Move-In.
